Rachel also served as the longtime Executive Director for Life in Deep Ellum, a cultural center that, under her leadership, became an anchor institution during the Dallas district’s economic resurgence. In 2024, as the district celebrated 150 years, Rachel was recognized in the Deep Ellum People campaign honoring historic figures.

Known for her advocacy in areas of justice and equity, Rachel was named Champion for the Human Rights Initiative of North Texas.

She served as Southern Methodist University’s Designer in Residence for the Master of Arts in Design and Innovation program. As part of the program, she consulted for the Dallas Police Department on improving procedural justice within the force.

Rachel’s philanthropic efforts and board seats include the Deep Ellum Foundation, Faith in Texas, the Criminal Justice Coalition of North Texas, and work with the ACLU. She is co-founder of Raise the Arts, which resourced fine arts programs in local urban schools and provided a community grant serving over 10,000 people annually.

Rachel studied the development of theology in Eastern and Western contexts, earning a Master of Divinity from AGTS, Evangel University, and her studies at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary. She hopes to give her two daughters a legacy of great joy, heal systems, and tend the quiet ache in people’s hearts.
