VolunteerNow is working with families and students to feed homeless families in Grand Prairie.

VolunteerNow is celebrating Make a Difference Day and VOLY.org's second birthday through a project with Grand Prairie ISD's LEAP Center, Loving Meals and Harvesting Hope. We trained students to lead and coordinate a project to feed homeless families in Grand Prairie. Participants completed 30 hours of goLEAD training, spearheaded by VolunteerNow, and their project on Make a Difference Day is their capstone project.

On October 24, these students will split into two groups - one prepping and serving meals and the second be gardening and planting vegetables like lettuce, squash, cabbage, radish and spinach. Additional vegetables will be planted in 2016 for a spring/summer harvest, and the harvests will be donated to Loving Meals.

Participating in this day runs the gamut! We are proud of our involvement, and encourage all of our agencies to take advtange of this national day of service.
