In this interactive 2 hour workshop you'll assess your recruitment strategy and learn how to message to different audience types. This training is great for new or seasoned volunteer managers. Learn how to assess organizational needs and identify target groups of volunteers to fill those needs. Together we will practice creating volunteer opportunities in VOLY.org as we adapt them to meet your needs. Implement new mission focused strategies while learning how to uniquely message different audiences and practice building targeted opportunities.
Attendees receive a workbook with volunteer types and step by step strategies that can be applied across their entire volunteer program.

In their eagerness to pursue their mission, organizations often overlook the groundwork necessary to create a sustainable volunteer program.
This hands-on workshop will guide you through building the tools and resources for a successful volunteer program including policies and procedures, a volunteer application, job description, volunteer handbook, orientation checklist, liability waiver and more.
Participation in this workshop will help you:
Identify the fundamental tools and resources needed for a successful volunteer program
Understand key policies and procedures for managing volunteers
Develop a table of contents for a volunteer manual
Learn the components of an effective volunteer job description
Identify acknowledgements recommended to protect your volunteers and your agency
Establish a checklist for volunteer orientation and training
Please bring samples of your current materials and be ready to ‘roll-up up your sleeves’ and work.
The course is ideal for anyone responsible for managing volunteers including nonprofit volunteer managers, executive directors, program managers, and volunteer leaders.
