Noted nonprofit consultant joins VolunteerNow
VolunteerNow is pleased to announce the addition of Stefan Ateek to its team. Mr. Ateek will serve in a consulting role as Director of Community Engagement to expand VolunteerNow’s presence on the west side of North Texas, in particular, in Fort Worth and Tarrant County. His expertise in the nonprofit sector and social work, as well as his knowledge of VolunteerNow operations and its current work in Tarrant County, make him an ideal fit for this role.
“Stefan is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about community issues, and we are so glad he has chosen to work with VolunteerNow,” CEO Tammy Richards said. “He will be instrumental in opening doors to expand North Texas’ connection to volunteerism.”
His expertise and knowledge in the areas of community outreach, networking, the courts system, and private foundations will be especially helpful to VolunteerNow. Mr. Ateek has spent decades supporting and working with hundreds of nonprofits and community leaders in North Texas.
“Volunteerism carries commitment to serve, love for others, understanding of true need, belief in humanity and the passion and will to do something about it,” Mr. Ateek said. “Every community needs it. Being a part of this movement is what I am thrilled about.”
Mr. Ateek is currently a professor of social work at Collin College, and has previously worked with the Amon G. Carter Foundation and The Simmons Family Foundation in securing the largest gift received in the University of Texas at Arlington’s history. He has also worked extensively in the Tarrant County justice system.
In addition to his impressive and extensive community involvement, Mr. Ateek earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University in 1979 and received his Master’s in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1981.
