Save lives on MLK Day!
If your resolution is to serve more in 2017, start your new year off by joining VolunteerNow as we support the American Red Cross in their fight against home fires. Every day in the US, someone dies in a home fire. On Saturday, January 14, be part of the largest smoke alarm installation event the Red Cross has ever done.
Volunteers will provide basic safety information and install free smoke detectors in about 1,000 homes in the Cockrell Hill community. Project is great for companies, church groups, service organizations, youth groups and anyone wanting to make a difference. This is also a great opportunity for families! Volunteers under age 18 must have parental permission (form here) and be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers who speak Spanish are highly encouraged to sign up.
