NVW2017: VolunteerNow Board Service

While every nonprofit is required to have a board of directors, each still relies on the kindness and generosity of community members who value serving others.

VolunteerNow’s Board of Directors is no exception. We are lucky to have dedicated civic leaders who believe in the power of volunteers. Phyllis Bernstein, Marissa Solis and Tracy Steiner are involved at the highest level in solving critical needs.

Phyllis Bernstein

Phyllis has been involved in the nonprofit sector her entire career, having served on countless boards, and offering her time, talent and resources in a variety of ways to transform the community.

While Phyllis has served many worthy causes, women’s health and education has been important and central to her work over the years. She is especially proud of receiving the Maura Women Helping Women Award for recognizing exceptional leaders who have pioneered the way in improving lives for women and girls. Phyllis also served as president of Girls Inc., and founded Baby Think It Over, a pregnancy prevention program for girls 11-15 years old. Phyllis is also very active in the Jewish faith community and serving in that capacity.

Marissa Solis

Currently the Marketing Vice President – Away From Home at Frito Lay North America, Marissa leads marketing, innovation and business development for existing food service and other non-retail channels.

Alongside building an impressive career, Marissa has dedicated her time to serving the community in impactful ways. She serves on the VolunteerNow board, is the executive sponsor for PepsiCo’s Adelante Employee Resource Group, as an Advisor to the Women of Color Alliance and is a member of the Network of Executive Women. Marissa is also an event co-chair for the 11th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon.

Tracy Steiner

Tracy is the Director of Worldwide Sales and Regional Digital Marketing and Communications for Texas Instruments, where she has worked since 2000. She manages the company’s regionally-based digital marketing and communications teams across Asia and Europe. Tracy’s volunteer and community work is just as inspiring as her work accolades. In addition to serving on the board of VolunteerNow, Tracy is the Strategy Vice President for the Junior League of Dallas. She’s also the former president of the Dallas Alumnae Association of Alpha Delta Pi, is actively involved with Northwest Bible Church and serves as room mom for her daughter’s school. Tracy is also currently an event co-chair for the 11th Annual Hearts of Texas Luncheon.
