William Lourcey: Being a Doer
Will Lourcey is a 13-year-old seventh grader in Fort Worth, and the founder and CEO of nonprofit FROGs - Friends Reaching Our Goals, Inc. He founded the youth led organization when he was 7 years old, after seeing a man on the street corner holding a sign that read “NEED A MEAL.”
Will likes to tell people “Be a doer, not a watcher. Change the world today!” He is a doer, based on his attitude and commitment to serving others.
Volunteers do change everything, and Will has changed the perception of volunteers in our community. He has shown that “little kids can make big differences.”
Since 2010, FROGs has provided more than 200,000 meals for the hungry, and inspired more than 1,000 youth to take action in communities. Will has used his voice to show youth and adults that we all have the power to make a positive impact.
Will speaks at conferences, to schools and to youth groups reaching live audiences of more than 7,000 people. Through live-streaming, he has also reached 2 million youth in 100 countries. Will uses his voice to inspire and mobilize others to volunteer.
Will’s volunteerism with FROGs has met critical needs int he North Texas community. After learning about kids in our community living in food deserts, he designed an outreach program called FROGs Dinner Club. It’s a monthly event comprised of two parts. FROGs serves a healthy, fresh catered meal to kids int he Cavile Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Fort Worth. The idea is to not just feed the kids but to expose them to fresh fruits and vegetables that they might not otherwise have access to. Then, after each meal, FROGs engages the kids in a service project.
Will wants to empower kids to help others and know that we all the ability to make a positive impact, give back to the community, and volunteer.
