Volunteers Needed To Support Red Cross Texas Disaster Operation

At VolunteerNow, we want to provide you with local needs that have been identified for current disaster response efforts.

This is a message from the Red Cross:

Since the beginning of May, multiple storm systems created record-breaking flooding, tornado, and storm damage in almost 100 counties in Texas. The American Red Cross has been working on a Disaster Operation to support individuals and families impacted by these storms, but additional help is needed in our Dallas Operation Headquarters.

Individuals manning the call-center will be taking in calls from individuals who have been impacted by these storms so that we can ensure services are provided to all those in need, as well as taking calls for individuals who are wanting information on how to help through either volunteering or donation. Scripts and FAQ sheets and training will be provided. Individuals should have a customer service focus, comfort talking to new people via phone, and ability to take detailed notes and information. The call-center is open 24 hours and is broken into three shifts that we need help supporting.

1st Shift: 8:00am to 4:00pm  - click here to register for this shift.

2nd Shift: 4:00pm to 12:00am – click here to register for this shift.

3rd Shift: 12:00am to 8:00am – click here to register for this shift.

One of operation staffing individuals will contact you back as soon as possible to ensure you are on the schedule and that you have any information needed. Please wait for the our staffing person to contact you to confirm your registration as each shift will need only a certain amount of individuals.

Thanks for your commitment to our Texas communities!
