Dhriti Stocks: Instrumental and inspiring
Currently serving in the Vice President role, Dhriti Stocks has served as a board member with Trinity Environmental Academy for five years.
She was instrumental in establishing the school, which opened August 2015 and serves to provide an innovative community-based environmental education to engage and empower scholars to become tomorrow's global change agents.
"Her expertise in development, grant writing, and knowledge of local foundations has been quite valuable," Board President Lisa Tatum said. "The dedication and determination that is needed to start a school is significant and Dhriti has exhibited all of these qualities wonderfully. She has been an inspiration to me."
Trinity Environmental Academy uses placed-based environmental education to teach students. Based on the Paul Quinn College campus, Trinity Environmental Academy is the first private college-public charter school partnership in Texas. Starting a new school is challenging, and Dhriti dove into learning Charter School law and finance, crafting policies, and interacting with students, parents, staff, and other board members - while learning how to simply serve. She mastered these, along with creating the plan for fundraising and partner development.
Dhriti also serves as co-chapter leader for AmeriCorps Alums of North Texas. She creates all newsletter communications and represents the chapter at local and state meetings, and has volunteered in this role for five years.
