Consistent compassion

Every Saturday morning, VOLY.org volunteers work with Oak Hill Animal Rescue’s mobile adoption center to find forever homes for 28 rescue puppies and dogs. Consistent volunteers are critical to this process, and thanks to VOLY.org, nonprofit staff knows exactly how many volunteers will show up, said Bettye Baker, the Executive Director of Oak Hill Animal Rescue.

The rescue organization puts compassion into action by ending the needless suffering of animals and relies largely on volunteer work, Baker said. VOLY.org has connected them with kind and giving volunteers who walk dogs, keep them company, and clean up after them during adoption events, allowing things to run smoothly.

“We depend entirely on VolunteerNow,” Baker said. “It’s made a huge difference in actually knowing how many people will show up to help. We need to have a solid team of people and VOLY.org has been critical to us.”

The organization is focused on being recognized as the highest standard of integrity in rescue and to educate the public on spaying, neutering, and the dangers of euthanasia, and staff relies on volunteers to serve as its foundation to pursue this critical mission.

“The nature of volunteering is people come when they can, and VOLY.org has given us some pretty dedicated people,” Baker said. “We just couldn’t do it without them.”
